Regi bows from OFSAA field hockey

Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers are returning home from the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations field hockey championship without a victory.
Regi, the Kingston Area and eastern Ontario champion, ended the preliminary round Friday morning by being beaten 2-1 by Malvern of Toronto. From their three games at the 16-team tournament in Waterloo, the Panthers managed just a tie.
Sarah Botros scored the lone Regi goal of the tournament.
Regi's fate was sealed Friday morning when Ottawa Merivale defeated Goderich 3-1. It was the final preliminary game for the tournament's No. 4 and 5 seeds, and the result guaranteed they would be the two teams to advance from Pool D to the quarter-final round.
Both teams, however, were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Related Articles:
