Amherstview's Zach Masterson named Empire league's player of the month

Zach Masterson of the Amherstview Jets has been named player of the month for December in the Empire Junior C Hockey League.
Masterson, 17, is in his first year with the Jets. In six December games he collected 11 points (four goals, seven assists) to move into a tie for sixth place among the league's scorers. With 20 goals and 38 points in 27 games, he leads the Jets in scoring and he is first among the league's rookies.
A player that draws a lot of attention from the opposition by his edgy play, Masterson also has 54 penalty minutes.
