Queen's close to naming new defensive co-ordinator

Queen's Golden Gaels will have a new defensive co-ordinator before too long, coach Pat Sheahan said Friday.
"We'll probably have it done by the first couple of days of February," he said.
The Gaels have been in the market since Pat Tracey left Queen's in December after 15 years to take the special-teams co-ordinator's job with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.
Closing date for candidates to apply at Queen's was Jan. 15 and Sheahan said the list of applicants runs the gamut from those with familiar names to up-and-comers.
"All of the above," he said. "There are some guys whose careers are starting to emerge on the horizons. There some old dogs. There are some well qualified candidates who threw their name in there.
"They're big shoes to fill but there are some very good candidates." Related Articles:
