Posted: April 29th, 2014 @ 9:01am

Bayridge Blazers and Ernestown Eagles each gained their first win of the young Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association senior boys soccer season Monday afternoon.

Bayridge, 1-0-1, blanked the Loyalist Lancers 3-0 at Machin Field, while Ernestown, 1-2, edged the Napanee Golden Hawks 2-1 at Queen's University's upper West Campus field.

Bilal Mufti, Jorge Casas and Spencer Dungey shared the Bayridge scoring, while Josh Reisling held winless Loyalist off the scoresheet for the third game in a row.

Elsewhere Monday, the Sydenham Golden Eagles and Frontenac Falcons each stretched their season-long undefeated streaks to three games, with a 3-1 win over the La Salle Black Knights and a 4-0 victory over the Granite Ridge Gryphons, respectively. The Holy Crusaders won their second game in a row, 3-2 over the Kingston Blues, as did the Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers, who prevailed over the Marie-Rivier Dragons 4-0.

In a game at West Campus, Angus Faye scored twice to lead Regi. Sam Myers and Simon Schmitke scored the other Panthers goals.

Zac Hutcheson, with two, and Justin LaFrance scored the goals as Holy Cross got past KC on Tindall Field. Mark Lappan and Isaac Macfayden replied for the Blues, who slipped to 1-1-1.

At Caraco Field, Sydenham led 1-0 at halftime and 3-0 with four minutes to play before La Salle's Braden Elliot put the Knights on the scoreboard. Clark Hood, with two, and Bob Cummings scored for the Golden Eagles.

In senior girls play Monday, Loyalist gained its first win of the year, 2-0 over Ernestown, while Frontenac had an easy time of it in its 7-0 win over Granite Ridge.

Shannon Pincivero scored the only two goals of the first half for Frontenac, and she added another in the second half as the Falcons improved to 3-0. In the game at Machin Field, Jenna MacLean, with two, Jazmin Wood and Steph Corcoran also scored for Frontenac.

At West Campus, Loyalist snapped a two-game losing streak and sent Ernestown to its third defeat of the season, thanks to goals by Briana Sullivan and Bronwyn Poulos.
