Juel prep Impact gain first tournament win

Kingston Impact teams split the final games of their respective Juel of Ontario girls basketball championship tournaments Sunday at Queen’s Univeristy.
In Juel Prep division, Kingston came from behind to gain its first win in three tournament games, 60-50 over the North Toronto Huskies.
The Impact found itself down by 10 points in the first quarter, trailing 16-6, but Kingston rebounded to draw within two, 24-22, at halftime.
The home team took control in the second half, leading by as much as 15 at one point, before settling for the 10-point victory.
Mary Besselink led the Impact with 14 points.
Kingston finished the year 10-17.
The senior Impact bowed 52-50 to Niagara, dropping to 1-3 for the tournament. It was the Impact’s third close game with Niagara this year, having won by four points and lost by a point during the regular year. Overall this year, Kingston finished 6-24.
