Kingston’s Zach Masterson scored four goals and set up five others Sunday as the Wilmot Wild defeated the Caledon Bandits 13-9 in an Ontario Junior C Lacrosse League game in Wilmot.

The nine-point performance left Masterson, the former Kingston King, in second place in league scoring, with 24 goals and 83 points, three behind league leader Aaron Woods of Clarington.

Masterson’s 59 assists—19 more than the next-best set-up man—lead the league.

The four-goal performance matched his high-water mark this year. Masterson also had four goals May 23 at Mimico, on a night when he added eight assists for a season-best 12 points.

That was just one point off the career-best 13 he collected last year in a game at Centre 70 against Huntsville, when he tied the all-time Kingston junior record for points in a game.

With one game left in the regular schedule, the Wild sit second in the league’s West division, two points behind unbeaten Six Nations. Wilmot, 13-2, has suffered its only two defeats at the hands of the division-leading Warriors.
