Kingston Kings will hold an organizational meeting Tuesday to discuss plans for the 2016 Ontario Junior C Lacrosse League season.

"It's a planning meeting to see if there are any individuals who wish to help out with the team, inject some new blood into the organization," club president David Austin said.

Facing a shortage of volunteers and having gone through a chronic player shortage in 2014, the Kings received a sabbatical from the league for the 2015 season and suspended operations for a year with an eye to reorganizing and rejoining the league next summer.

Austin says he's spoken to some people who are interested in rekindling the team.

"We'll see what we get in terms of interest and see what that means in terms of creating some synergy," he said.

There are vacancies on the executive but the meeting is open to anyone who would like to learn more about the club and has a passion for Canada's national summer sport.

The Kings formed in 2010 after the Kingston junior team operated for two years as the Cavaliers. It is a member of a 16-team league that extends from Cornwall in the east to Wilmot, near Kitchener, in the west.

Tuesday’s meeting will be held at 8 p.m. in Hall B of the Invista Centre.
