Five different players—including rookie Alle Arsenault—scored once each Monday as the Holy Cross Crusaders posted a 5-0 victory over the Ernestown Eagles on the opening day of the Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association field hockey season in Odessa.

Elsewhere Monday: Bayridge Blazers got a goal from Joelle Bradshaw and shutout goaltending from Chelsea Herman in a 1-0 home-field win over the Frontenac Falcons; the Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers scored early and were never challenged by the Loyalist Lancers as they posted a 6-0 victory; Kat Newton scored twice to lead the Sydenham Golden Eagles to a 4-0 win over the La Salle Black Knights, and the Kingston Blues edged the Napanee Golden Hawks 1-0.

Playing at Regi, the Panthers got one goal apiece from Christina Tavares, Alexis Pereira, Hannah Merjavec, Lilly Dickson, Kelly Yuzichuk and Jennie Izatt.
