Mariah Emmons scored 22 points Wednesday to spark the Bayridge Blazers to a 55-36 Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association senior girls basketball victory over the Loyalist Lancers.

It was the opening game of the season for both teams.

Playing at Loyalist, Reagan Hawley added 14 points to the Bayridge attack, while Lauren Carson scored 12 points for Loyalist.

In Wednesday’s only other game, the Frontenac Falcons began their season with a 36-13 win over the Ernestown Eagles at Odessa.

Play resumes Tuesday with four games.
