Abby Hetherington scored 17 points Thursday to lead the La Salle Black Knights to a 60-25 home-court victory over the Loyalist Lancers in high school senior girls basketball play.
As they improved to 2-0, the Knights also got 11 points from Jamie Mumby.
Clare Way-Brackenbury and Grace Van Hal scored eight points apiece for the Lancers, who lost for third time in three games.
Elsewhere in the Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association, the Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers defeated the Kingston Blues 44-9 and the Frontenac Falcons beat the Napanee Golden Hawks 66-32.
Bridget Mulholland’s game-best 11-point performance included three three-point baskets for the Panthers, who got eight points from Kristina Nuvoloni.
Regi stymied the Blues with some rapid ball movement around the perimeter, allowing the post players to establish position. “When they were given the ball,” Panthers coach Lesley Stevenson said, “the posts made good choices.”
