Queen’s Golden Gaels missed an opportunity to move past the Carleton Ravens in the East division standings Wednesday, as they settled for a 1-1 draw with the Ravens in an Ontario University Athletics men’s soccer game at Miklas-McCarney Field.
Now 6-2-4—and with just one loss in their last 10 games—the Gaels began the day two points behind third-place Carleton, but with the tie that’s also how they left the field.
After a scoreless first half, Andrew Bryan of the Ravens got the game’s first goal six minutes into the second half, and Oliver Coren tied the score for Queen’s 10 minutes later.
Carleton, playing its fourth game in eight days, is now 6-2-6, but has won just one of its last seven games.
The Gaels, who played Carleton to 1-1 ties in both games with the Ravens this year, hit the road for a pair of games this weekend, Friday in Oshawa against Ontario Tech, and Saturday in Peterborough against Trent.
