She may not have scored much Tuesday night, but Hailey Wolfgram made other important contributions on the basketball court.

Though she brought just two points to Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers’ 44-29 victory over the Holy Cross Crusaders, Regi coach Lesley Stevenson described Wolfgram's role as “absolutely invaluable.”

“Her defence, leadership and rebounding were key factors in this game,” Stevenson wrote, in an email, after her team extended its season-long wining streak to seven games.

With less than three weeks remaining in the regular year, the Panthers are the only unbeaten senior girls basketball team in the Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association.

Bridget Mulholland scored 14 points to lead the Panthers, who got 12 points from Rebecca Wendland. Emma Lefebvre’s six points came from a pair of three-point baskets.

Plagued by injuries, the Crusaders had difficulty finding a rhythm at the start, and subsequently suffered their first loss in six games this year. Dani Benton and Kelsey Murphy each hit a three in the losing cause.

Elsewhere Tuesday, the La Salle Black Knights improved to 5-1 with a 36-23 win over the visiting Sydenham Golden Eagles; the Kingston Blues gained their second victory of the season, 25-24 over the Lancers at Loyalist, and the Frontenac Falcons reached the .500 plateau with a 30-13 win over the Bayridge Blazers.
