Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers played what coach Mark McKenna called the most complete match of their Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association season Thursday, defeating the Granite Ridge Gryphons 3-0 in one of four senior boys volleyball matches.
Playing at Regi, the Panthers got 16 service points from Dylan Medeiros. Nathan Burtch had 22 assists to lead a balanced attack that gave Regi its 10th win without defeat this year.
Elsewhere Thursday, the Holy Cross Crusaders handed the Kingston Blues only their second defeat of the season, 3-2 at Holy Cross; Sydenham took advantage to move into a second-place with KC by blanking the Marie-Rivier Dragons 3-0, and the La Salle Black Knights strengthened their grip on the final playoff spot by beating the Napanee Golden Hawks 3-0.
