Alyssa Platt scored 12 points Tuesday afternoon, leading the Bayridge Blazers to a 35-34 overtime victory in one of two Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association senior girls basketball games.
Playing at Bayridge, the Blazers climbed into a sixth-place tie with the Blues at 3-5. Finishing sixth is not without its perks, in as much as it allows the team that finishes there to avoid a first-round playoff date with either Regi or Holy Cross.
The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for Bayridge, which began the season 2-0.
KC was led by a 12-point performance form Emily Bruce.
In Tuesday’s other game, the La Salle Black Knights solidified their grip on third place with their seventh win in nine games, 50-16 over the Ernestown Eagles at Odessa.
