Strong serving performances by Zara Quinton and Kayla Chartrand led the Marie-Rivier Dragons to their second high school senior girls volleyball victory in a row Tuesday afternoon, 3-0 over the La Salle Black Knights.
The Dragons, 2-1, won the match 25-17, 25-19, 25-7.
Middle blocker Megan Filiatrault, a Grade 9 student, was a dominant force for Marie-Rivier, stabilizing the Dragons’ defence.
Elsewhere in the Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association Tuesday: Kingston Collegiate and Sydenham both improved to 3-0, the Blues edging the Bayridge Blazers 3-2 and the Golden Eagles defeating the Holy Cross Crusaders 3-1; the Ernestown Eagles gained their first win of the year, 3-0 over Milles-Iles; the Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers remain undefeated after a straight-sets win over the Loyalist Lancers, and the Napanee Golden Hawks beat the visiting Granite Ridge Gryphons 3-0.
