Frontenac Falcons moved into a second-place tie in Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association senior girls volleyball play Thursday with a 3-2 home-court win over the Loyalist Lancers.
It was the fourth win without defeat in conference play this year for the Falcons, one of three teams to go into the Christmas break with an unbeaten record. Sydenham leads the league at 5-0, while the Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers are also 4-0.
The Kingston Blues stayed half a game out of second place, as they improved to 4-1 with a 3-0 win over the winless Black Knights at La Salle.
Elsewhere, the Holy Cross Crusaders blanked the Ernestown Eagles 3-0, the Bayridge Blazers defeated the Napanee Golden Hawks 3-0, and the Granite Ridge Gryphons got their first win of the season, 3-0 over winless Mille-Iles.
