Single-A EOSSAA basketball tournament postponed to Monday

Posted: February 25th, 2016 @ 7:16am

Poor weather has forced postponement the start of the Eastern Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association single-A basketball tournament in Brockville today.
The tournament, where six teams—including the Queen Elizabeth Raiders—will contest a spot in the provincial championship, has been rescheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Jessica Dixie, athletics director at the host school, Brockville Collegiate, announced just before 7 a.m.
The double-A tournament, also being held in Brockville, has been postponed by a day. It will begin Friday and conclude on Monday.
The postponement creates a short timeframe for the winner of the single-A bracket, where the smallest schools in the area compete, to make arrangements to attend the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations championship, which is being held in Sault Ste. Marie, March 7-9.
