Sydenham wins one of three at OFSAA girls rugby

 Sydenham Golden Eagles are coming home from the provincial girls high school rugby championship after they were defeated 19-7 by Oakville Trafalgar, the tournament's No. 1 seed and the defending Ontario champion, Tuesday afternoon in Waterloo.
Sydenham, seeded tenth at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations AAA/AAAA tournament, dropped its opening game Monday to No. 7 seed Caledon Mayfield 19-0. Tuesday morning, the Kingston Area and Eastern Ontario champion Eagles stayed alive by beating Hamilton Sherwood 33-7.
Sixteen teams participated in the three-day event, which concludes today at the University of Waterloo.
