Heyman, Stride score tries as rugby Gaels defeat York

Sydenham High School grad Karley Heyman, a rookie wing from Harrowsmith, scored her team's first try Friday night, helping the Queen's Gaels defeat the York Lions 38-15 in an Ontario University Athletics women's rugby match in Toronto.
Kingston's Devon Stride, a fourth-year kinesiology student, also scored a try for the No.3-ranked Gaels, who twice had to come back to gain the victory.
York scored the first try of the game and after Queen's took a 12-5 lead into halftime, the home team scored the first two tries of the second half to take a 15-12 lead. The Gaels then scored 24 unanswered points the rest of the way to secure their second win, without defeat, this year.
Queen's next game will be next Friday at Trent.
