Regi, La Salle, Frontenac still unbeaten in senior girls basketball play

La Salle, Frontenac and Regiopolis Notre Dame all maintained their unblemished records Thursday in Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association senior girls basketball play.La Salle Black Knights improved to 3-0 with a 38-23 win over the Ernestown Eagles, at Regi the Panthers kept pace with a 48-16 win over the Kingston Blues and the Frontenac Falcons also emerged from the day undefeated in three games after they handed the defending champion Holy Cross Crusaders their first loss of the year, 24-21.Lillie Dixon scored 13 points to lead La Salle, which enjoyed a 20-point lead, 27-7, at halftime. Hannah Coates scored nine points for Ernestown, which lost for the third time in a row but outscored the Knights 16-11 in the second half.Regi used its fast break to jump to an early lead and the Panthers coasted to victory with Kallysta Deodato scoring 14 points and Bridget Mulholland adding eight for the winners.Elsewhere, the Loyalist Lancers gained their third win in four games, 44-36 over the winless Queen Elizabeth Raiders, and the Sydenham Golden Eagles improved to 2-1 when they edged the winless Bayridge Blazers 31-27.Bridget Way-Brackenbury reached double figures for the fourth game in a row, with 16 points for Loyalist.
