Three local teams are all done at OFSAA basketball

All three Kingston-area teams were eliminated Friday from their respective Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations girls basketball tournaments.
After winning their second-round game Friday morning, 56-29 over Father Redmond of Etobicoke, the Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers were beaten 60-44 Friday night in a AAA quarter-final match with St. Thomas Aquinas of London, the tournament's No. 4 seed.
It was Regi's first loss after 10 straight regular-season wins and six consecutive playoff victories, through play Friday morning.
In that morning game, Bridget Mulholland scored 21 points for the fifth-seeded Panthers, the Kingston Area and eastern Ontario champions who departed from the tournament in London 2-1.
Kallista Deodato and Alex Gilmour scored nine points apiece for Regi, which jumped to a 19-6 lead in the first quarter and allowed Redmond to score just three points in the second for a commanding 33-9 halftime advantage.
Mulholland scored 17 points and Deodato 10 in the quarter-final contest.

In the AA tournament at Windsor, the La Salle Black Knights dropped back-to-back games to end the competition 1-2. Friday morning they were dispatched to the consolation round by a 39-32 defeat at the hands of 12th-seeded Stratford St. Michael. Friday night, the Knights' season ended with a 50-36 loss to Burlington Assumption, the No. 14 seed.
La Salle could not quite get over the hump in the morning game with St. Michael. The Knights trailed by three points after the first quarter and they were outscored by two points, one point and one point in the next three periods.
Sarah Beech led La Salle, the tournament's sixth-seeded team, with 11 points.
In the consolation quarter-final, the Knights were blitzed in the first quarter and never overcame the early 15-4 deficit.
Lilie Dixon scored 17 points for La Salle in that game.

In Sault Ste. Marie, the Rideau District Lions were eliminated in a Friday morning quarter-final at the single-A championship, 40-30 by Monseigneur-Bruyere of London.
Mykaela Mallette scored eight points for the Lions, the second-seeded team at the tournament.
Rideau led 19-15 at halftime and 27-24 going into the fourth quarter but the Lions, who won their first two games by 31 and 24 points, were overwhelmed 16-3 in the final eight minutes of the game.
Bruyere went on to lose to White Pines, the tournament host and the No. 3 seed, 56-46 in Friday night's semifinal.
