Posted: February 21st, 2014 @ 12:04pm

La Salle Black Knights earned a berth in the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations AA boys basketball championship Friday with a 60-46 win over Holy Trinity of Cornwall in the final game of the eastern Ontario tournament in Pembroke.

La Salle advanced undefeated through the six-team, two-day Eastern Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association event, winning all four of its games.

Jesse Graham led La Salle in the championship game with 23 points, giving him 95 in the four games of the tournament. Tanner Graham added 16 points, Braden Elliott scored 11 and Cole Busschaert added 10.

Showing good composure on both offence and defence, La Salle Friday morning advanced to the final with a 57-32 win over Smiths Falls. The Knights adjusted well throughout the game to defeat a team coach Karen Graham expected to be a tough opponent.

Jesse Graham led La Salle with 26 points. Thomas Peirson had nine points and nine rebounds for the Knights, who also got nine-point performances from Busschaert and Tanner Graham.

Holy Trinity eliminated St. Michael of Kemptville in the other semifinal.

The OFSAA tournament will be played March 3-5 in Perth.
