MISSISSAUGA - Results of Kingston-area athletes Thursday on the first day of the 65th Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations track and field championships at St. Marcellinus Secondary School:
Nick Adams, Sydenham
Ran junior boys 1,500 metres in 4 minutes 26.85 seconds, finished 11th in the fast heat and did not qualify for the final. His time was 21st overall.
Kevin Bates, Regiopolis Notre Dame
Ran open boys 2,000-metre steeplechase in 6 minutes 22.14 seconds, finished eighth in the slow heat and did not qualify for the final. His time was 14th overall.
* Ran senior boys 1,500 metres in 4 minutes 22.35 seconds, finished 11th in the slow heat and did not qualify for the final. His time was 21st overall.
Kenya Costa-Dookhan, Holy Cross
Had a best attempt of 4.99 metres and finished seventh in senior girls long jump.
Ben Cross, Frontenac
Had a best attempt of 49.42 metres and finished fifth in senior boys javelin.
* Had a best attempt of 12.28 metres and finished 19th in senior boys triple jump.
Emily Drouin, Regiopolis Notre Dame
Ran open girls 1,500-metre steeplechase in a season-best 5 minutes 18.77 seconds, finished second in the fast heat and qualified for Friday's final. Her time was third overall.
Leah Hill, Napanee
Had a best attempt of 26.14 metres and finished 23rd in senior girls discus.
Heather Jaros, La Salle
Ran senior girls 1,500 metres in 4 minutes 44.36 seconds, finished first in the slow heat and qualified for Friday's final. Her time was second overall.
Cameron Linscott, Kingston
Ran junior boys 1,500 metres in 4 minutes 12.12 seconds, finished fourth in the fast heat and qualified for Friday's final. His time was seventh overall.
Branna MacDougall, Regiopolis Notre Dame
Ran junior girls 1,500 metres in 4 minutes 43.45 seconds, finished first in the fast heat and qualified for Friday's final. Her time was first overall.
Jacquelyn Quesnel, Kingston
Ran midget girls 1,500 metres in a season-best 4 minutes 57.75 seconds, finished third in the slow heat and qualified for Friday's final. Her time was sixth overall.
Ben Trickey, Sydenham
Ran senior boys 400 merres in 52.32 seconds, finished sixth in the fast heat and did not qualify for the final. His time was 19th overall.
Hailey Wolfgram, Regiopolis Notre Dame
Had a best attempt of 10.83 metres, a season best, and won the silver medal in junior girls shot put.
Graeme Workman, Kingston
Ran midget boys 400 metres in 57.34 seconds, finished eighth in the slow heat and did not qualify for the final. His time was 22nd overall.
Relays
Sydenham Midget Boys
Thomas Lambert, Blake Robinson, Daret McKay, Merik Wilcock ran the 400-metre relay in a season-best 47.79 seconds, finished seventh in the fast heat and did not qualify for the final. Their time was 15th overall.
Holy Cross Junior Boys
Michael Thompson, Jin Kim, Jordan Langille, Devin Leblanc ran the 400-metre relay in a season-best 45.82 seconds, finished fourth in the slow heat and did not qualify for the final. Their time was 11th overall.
Holy Cross Senior Boys
Jake Gurnsey, Josh Chevarie, Brodie Blaskie, Darien Leblanc ran the 400-metre relay in 44.16 seconds, finished fifth in the slow heat and did not qualify for the final. Their time was 14th overall.
