Kingston Blues and Loyalist Lancers made sure Thursday that none of the drama dissipated from their looming senior boys volleyball match on Tuesday.
The Blues and Lancers both won their Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association contests, KC 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-7) over the Marie-Rivier Dragons and Loyalist 3-0 over the Napanee Golden Hawks.
Those outcomes leave the Blues and LC, both 5-1, tied for second place in league standings, a deadlock that will be broken Tuesday when KC hosts the Lancers in a 5:15 match.
Elsewhere Thursday: the Holy Cross Crusaders defeated the La Salle Black Knights 3-1; the Granite Ridge Gryphons improved to 4-2 with a 3-0 win over the Queen Elizabeth Raiders, and the Sydenham Golden Eagles kept pace with their north country contemporaries with a 3-1 win over the Blazers at Bayridge.
