Regiopolis Notre Dame Panthers began defence of their high school senior girls volleyball title with a straight sets victory over the Ernestown Eagles Thursday afternoon in Odessa.
The Panthers swept the match 25-21, 25-16, 25-18.
Left sides Hailey Wolfgram, Logan Rooks and Emma Maclean combined for 14 kills to lead the Panthers. Setters Annie Kennedy and Natasha Blanchet combined for 20 assists.
Elsewhere in the Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association Thursday, all the home teams won, and the Kingston Blues, Frontenac Falcons, Loyalist Lancers and Sydenham Golden Eagles each won their second match of the young season.
Frontenac defeated the Granite Ridge Gryphons, Sydenham downed the Bayridge Blazers, Loyalist beat the La Salle Black Knights and KC got the best of the Napanee Golden Hawks, all by 3-0 scores.
In Thursday’s other match, the Marie-Rivier Dragons improved to 1-1 with a 3-0 victory over Mille-Iles. The Dragons prevailed 25-14, 25-7, 25-8.
